Georgetown, known for its industrial heritage, has transitioned into one of the more highly iconic Seattle neighborhoods. More often than not, industrial areas are devoid of employee amenities – not so in Georgetown. Georgetown is a dynamic community with restaurants and small businesses that provide conveniences that are not typically associated with an industrial area. Over the past several years Georgetown has become a destination, with Seattleites driving across town to eat and shop and absorb its uniqueness.
Georgetown has merged old and new industrial with urban “hipness” and is a unique example of industry and retail residing side-by-side within major, vital transportation corridors.
